Q: What classes does Push Harder Fitness offer?
A: Push Harder Fitness offers Zumba, Ab Blast, Brazilian Booty Lift,  Xtreme Cardio Kick (Kickboxing), Blast (Total Body Toning), Hip Hop Fitness, Caribbean Twist, junior Fit (Grades 1-12), POW! Boot Camp W/ R. Lisette.  Visit our Classes section for a detailed description of each one of these offerings.

Q: Help!,I dont see a class on the schedule that fits the time slot I need?
A:  Push Harder Fitness is more than happy to create new offerings and classes as the need arises.  In order to open up a new time slot on the schedule, Push Harder Fitness needs a minimum of 10 customers to open up a new class.  We always keep a class wish list at the front desk, so feel free to put your name on that list.

Q: What is a typical Zumba® class like?
A: Zumba® is normally a one hour fitness class based on the principle of interval training - alternating high intensity and lower intensity exercise which works for both beginners and advanced exercisers. In Zumba®, changes in intensity are driven by the different rhythms of the music and the steps - without the negative effects of high impact aerobics. We start with a warm up, then move through 8-10 routines which vary in intensity and style - Merengue, Salsa, Reggaeton, Cumbia, Quebradita, Calypso, Bachata, Paso Doble, Cha Cha and even belly dancing and hip hop! Zumba® blends traditional dance steps with basic fitness moves so anyone can participate - it's very easy to follow. We finish with a cool down and stretch to bring the heart rate down and relax the muscles.

Q: What type of shoes and clothing should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable clothing appropriate for exercise that allows freedom of movement and preferably fabrics that wick the moisture away from your body (e.g., coolmax or dri-fit). Most importantly, shoes should be comfortable with plenty of cushion and lateral support. You may find that running shoes or cross trainers may have too much tread to allow for side-to-side movement. Lesser-tread athletic shoes such as Puma, Nike, Adidas may be preferable. Dance sneakers such as Salsation by Bloch, Capezio, or Zumba's very own Z1 are an excellent choice. We do not recommend bare feet or sock-feet for class due to lack of support and safety concerns! We also recommend you bring a towel or two and lots of water to class.

Q: Can I really get a good workout in Push Harder Fitness classes?
A: OMG YES! Because the program is so flexible, both the beginner and the long-time fitness guru alike can get a great workout. Since Zumba® has become so diversified, you can choose programs that best fit your workout styles.  If you enjoy a little toning with your workout, Blast is perfect for you.  If you love cardio, Zumba is a fabulous workout.  Regardless of the workout, be prepared to sweat, be prepared to feel the burn, but most of all, be prepared to have tons of fun. Most participants burn between 500-800 calories per hour. The workout targets the glutes (la colita), legs, arms, abdominals (los rollitos), and most importantly, el corazón (the heart).

Q: What are the benefits of a Push Harder Fitness classes?
A: Prepare to sweat! Push Harder Fitness will get your heart pumping and increase your endurance - you'll have more energy and burn fat. The moves will work your core (abs, back and hips) to strengthen and define them. Besides the physical benefits, Push Harder Fitness is a "feel good" atmosphere, not a boring, dreaded chore - the music is motivating and fun, you'll leave happy! Some people state it reminds them of the music they hear on vacation.  It's a good mental break from our busy lives - time for yourself, time for laughter, relaxation and fun which should be a MUST in everyones life!

Q: I have a bad back/knees/ankles/elbow, vertigo, etc. Can I still workout?
A: It is imperative that you let your Push Harder Fitness staff member know if you have an injury or condition that may cause some discomfort! The steps can be modified for your safety. If you have not exercised in a long time, please see your doctor to obtain clearance to start classes. Zumba® can be intense, so go at your own pace and LISTEN TO YOUR BODY! Take a break when you need one! Class is not a competition.  You don't have to Zumba® at the same level as others in the class. If your body resists, don't overdo it, keep moving and work at your own pace because we want you to have fun and come back!

Q: Can I bring my 70 year old mother and my 10 year old son/daughter to Zumba® too?
A: YES! Zumba® is for EVERYONE - I have never seen a class that is so accommodating to all ages, sizes, shapes and abilities! We've had four generations from one family in class at the same time! And guess what???   REAL men Zumba® too!  ANYONE can Zumba®! We also have specialty classes like Junior Fit for our youth fitness and Zumba Gold for our Seniors.

Q: Do I need special equipment?
A: Hardly. All you need is a nonslip yoga mat for Ab Blast & Brazilian Booty Lift.

Q: What if I can't get the steps right away?
A: Don't worry, you don't have to be a professional dancer or have Latin genes to Zumba®. The steps are very easy to follow and once you see the basic moves for each rhythm, which repeat often, you'll catch on. Plus in Zumba® we combine these steps with basic fitness or aerobics moves so it's not complicated choreography. The routines are designed so you can get a good workout even if it is your very first Zumba® class. The most important thing is to keep on moving, have fun and don't take it too seriously! Focus on the feet first, then the arms/hips, etc. and the rest will follow! We guarantee it gets easier with every class! You can always see any of our Push Harder Fitness Team Members before or after class if you want to review a step in more detail or have questions.

Q: What is the difference between a Push Harder Fitness Classes and the other fitness facilities?
A: Fit Boss R. Lisette.  Lisette is the owner of Push Harder Fitness and she established Push Harder Fitness due to the demand for her classes.  Her classes are a little different only because she introduces more of a combined workout routine that includes Zumba, weights, core such as isometrics, planks, Yoga and several other fitness and dance elements.  She had and established following prior to opening Push Harder Fitness and therefore because of her repoir with her customer base, her classes are in high demand.
